Today: departing Oklahoma City at 10:00am for an easy day's drive after visiting w/Aunt Jane, Janette & Susan the day before, and, heading for
Hot Springs AR... but wait... before we leave Oklahoma City... must drive by my grandparent's (my mom's parents) house where I spent a
LOT of time as a yut (youth), and, since I don't know if or when I'll ever be in front of 2524 NW 23rd Street again, or, if I am
if the house would still be there, a few photos that are all pretty much the same if you please.

BTW, the albums that contained the photos that are currently contained in the archives were taken on this road trip and when
we got to my sister's place in Texas were swapped for another bunch on albums that follow those, so, check out the archives

looking north across the street from 2524 - there used to be a furniture store (about the size of the 3 LHS businesses), next,
the Villa Theatere (25cents), next, a barber shop...
looking east from 2524 - the car warsh replaced a house while I was still a kid, and has apparently survived so far... |

As a kid a new shopping center was put in on the NE corner of Villa and 23rd ... going north on S Villa Ave zoomed in on what appears

... going north on Villa, white building w/blue band around the top on SE corner of Villa and 23rd, viz., Villa Automotive,
has replaced the little mom&pop grocery store I used to walk to with grandma on hot summer days to get
6oz bottles of Coke-Cola in plastic carriers w/slide-up metal handles to take home and put into a glass w/ice
and then drink in front of the swamp cooler at the brekfast table... |
