The Arkansas Alligator Farm was founded in 1902 and is the only alligator farm (now or in the past) in Arkansas;
sooooooo, in 1951 when my dad, a captain in artillery was called back into the service at Fort Sill (near Lawton OK) to
teach artillery to young officers, one of the things he did was he brought the family to Hot Springs where one of the things
we did was visit an alligator farm - HAD to be this very same one in this very same place!!!

... when we paid admission I wondered why there was a loaf of bread lying next to the cash register...
Jamie handed us a hand full of slices of bread to feed the critters in the petting zoo (NOT for the alligators)...
this grey goat was the largest and insisted on getting ALL the bread... pushed any others out of the way if we
tried to approach one of them, so, began tossing over the fence to others...
