... made good time, so, lets check out Carlsbad Caverns and see if we can see the bats exit the cave at sunset... |

... arrived about 2:45pm, no more admittance to the cave after 3pm (for obvious reasons), and...
... were told THE ELEVATOR WAS BROKEN and would not be fixed until sometime in June, and...
... and... there would be no bat exit worth watching because they are migraory and only a few had arrived so far... [sigh]...
... soooooooo... head on out of the park and on in to the motel in Carlsbad... |

... saw this cactus on the way in to the cave... it was the ONLY red flowers in the park so stopped on the way back out... |
