The third annual Mid-Cal Cycle Toy Run was held on November 28th, the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This is a rain-or-shine event
and this event has been held in the rain in the past, so, the early morning clear blue
skies at 30'ish degrees, felt like 50'ist degrees in the sun when standing still, 40'ish degrees in the wind,
although a little nippy was welcome. Bruce and Robert of Mid-Cal Cycle (mid-calcycle.com) provided donuts and Starbuck's coffee at the shop during the 9am - 10am registration period - thank you very much. The toy box at the shop already had toys that had been collected so far. The West Sacramento News Ledger newspaper had a photographer attend and a nice article came out the following Wednesday in the paper. A group photo done around 10am and directly the group of around thirty motors fired up. First stop was the West Sac Sports Bar & Grill on Jefferson. More toys were loaded into a pickup truck at each of the stops. Next stop was out the River Road to Elkhorl Saloon Country Bar & Grill. Then more riding and collecting toys - the group rode on to the Meca Club... then to Club Pheasant... then to Streets of London... then to Vince's Italiana Restaurante... A day of riding and collecting toys for those less fortunate - grest day, great ride, great cause, ummmmmm... feeeeels good - Merry Christmas to all!
