OCTOBER 17th, 2015! WHAT A DAY!! WHAT A COLOBERATION OF EVENTS AT IRON STEED HARLEY-DAVIDSON!!! The Nor-Cal Open Road Tour Passport program
finale was on this day at Iron Steed Harley-Davidson, AND, the Snap-On Tools of Triumph Tour was on this day at Iron Steed
Harley-Davidson, AND, the Old Iron Bike Show was on this day at Iron Steed Harley-Davidson. This is the third year that Iron Steed HD (ironsteedhd.com) has held the Nor-Cal Road Tour Passport program. Participants in the summer long Passport program picked up a "passport" at Iron Steed HD which they presented at various "Passport" events and participating "Passport" businesses to be stamped. The Snap-On Tools of Triumph Tour featured a Snap-On themed ride built by Orange Coast Choppers, a Snap-On NASCAR, a Snap-On quarter mile dragster, and THREE semi's with interactive simulators. The simulators - interesting, the tool demos - interesting, the hot rods - interesting, but... the bike - WOW! - every imaginable Snap-On tool/gadget was incorporated into the build - foot pegs, levers, brackets, mirrors, wheels, paint... even the oil bag was a miniature Snap-On tool box (but the drawers didn't open - duh). Where ever you looked on the bike you saw Snap-On Snap-On Snap-On. Gleaming chrome and "wet" red paint - nice ride. AND, anyone who purchased a new Sanp-On tool box (and the tool boxes started at $6,000) was entered into a drawing for a $12,000 dollar Iron Steed H-D gift card! The Old Iron Bike Show featured one of my favorite Harleys, a knuck with some nice upgrades, like foot shift with grasshopper, panhead intake manifold adaptation, belt drive, and, some old original equipment, like mechanical rear brake, Linkert M74B orange juice can, and, some missing equipment, like no pegs or pad for the ol' lady, no damper for the springer front end, and, running a spoolie on the front end - been there... done that... got tired of sliding into and around bad situations, but, all in all a FINE example of a chopped knuck, and, it won first place. This event ran from 11am to 6pm with all of the above, plus food, vendors, drinks, music and a 2015 Street 750 raffled off! Well, the only thing left to say now is be sure to get by Iron Steed HD next spring to get in on their NorCal Road Tour Passport program.
