Hot Rods and Harleys is Iron Steed Harley-Davidson's biggest event of the year! The 1st of June this year marks the 17th Annual American
Hot Rod Show with five categories and the 20th Annual Ride-In Motorcycle Show with twelve categories.
This event has been steadily growing every year and this year the live band was SAVANNAH BLUE! Riders filled ALL
of both sides of Auto Center Drive and was a "show" in itself just walking up and down the street. The expected attendance was 5,000,
however, I suspect that number was over-run because shortly after noon many of the food vendors were sending runners out
to local food suppliers for ADDITIONAL supplies!
Event sponsors included Miller High Life, Russ Brown Motorcycle Attorneys, Right Now Air, Bay Area Pressure
Washing, LLC, and, Road Trip Bar & Grill of Capay.
Many big name vendors were on hand, like Dunlop Tire,
Drag Specialties, Thunderheader, Area 51 Racing, Vance & Hines, and Purple Slice.
Other booths included
ABATE Local 17, event T-shirts, Sarah Renee Phillips 15th Anniversary Memorial Run, Ammunition Supply Point (with ammo AND guns),
Truck & Jeep Works, Roadwagz (Quarter Fairing Windscreen), Hagerty Collector Car Insurance, HardDrive
Wheels & Tires, Scarf It Up by Sue, Crazy Wrap Thing, Pakit Rak, Rip City Riders Raffle, Cycle Shade,
High Class Low Life Clothing, Paparazzi Jewelry & Accessories, Hells Angels Vallejo, Sams Club, Scentsy,
Grace Adele Style Systems, Riders Recycle, Best Western, Exotic Diva Jewels, Origami Owl Custom Jewelry, and
Damsel in Defense (personal protection products). Golly-G-whiz - was that enough vendors to visit? I reckon so.
Rectum hell, damn near killed the poor boy.
And, food vendors? No one needed to go
hungry because there was something for everyone including Little Jimmy's Italian Ices, Bar-B-Q, Wood Fired Pizza.
Rainbow Snow Shaved Ice (with corn dogs, freedom fries, chicken rings), BBQ Oysters & Shrimp,
Steamed Hot Dogs, the Oyster Guy, and, Coors Light.
A "Kids Corner" was set up at this family friendly event featuring the Strider Adventure Zone (a mini-bicycle course
with ramps), a bounce house and face painting.
Now, if it sounds like you would have been busy taking in all I have already mentioned, keep in mind that twelve
motorcycle categories, five car categories, and, of course, the Iron Steed show room which was standing room only!
I couldn't take photographs of ALL of hot rods and Harleys, so you will have to be satisfied with the selection I chose for you to see here...
[sigh]... I will need more than a 16-car garage to house all the bikes and
cars on display that I would like to have in my collection - my collection? - that would be the collection that I'll start as soon
as Publishers Clearing House knocks on my door with...
Well, I did not see any rat rods, and, that's ok I reckon, and I did not see much in the way of places to sit in
the shade - not because all the seating was taken but because it was a very mobile crowd - walkin' - talkin' - lookin.'
But, never the less, if you wanted to sit then you could find a cool spot.
So, you can go to the Good Guys Car show at the Pleasenton Fair Grounds and see cars, or, you can to to Street Vibrations
in Reno and see bikes, but, if you want it all then go to Iron Steed Harley-Davidson's Hot Rods and Harleys show
in Vacaville.
