4) Headed Youth Leadership Development courses
5) Trained Scout leaders, and trained Scout trainers
6) Trained in basic and advanced wilderness first aid |
HOG MEMBERSHIP HIGHLY ENCOURAGED - Although being a member of HOG is not (currently) required, it would be
HIGHLY encouraged, even rewarded |
Frivolous board meetings topics will be tabled (INDEFINITELY),
like complaints from current/previous board members about how a board member is performing their
duties... we are all doing the best we can... if you don't like the way an officer is performing then
run for that office at the next election... |
NEW MEMBER RIDES EVERY MONTH - New Member rides of 100+/- miles to be held 1st weekend following EVERY
general meeting! |
PICK UP RIDES FOR ALMOST ALL WEEKENDS - Pick up rides on the calendar for every weekend
unless there is another day ride already scheduled, and, if there is a weekend
ride scheduled, a pickup ride for anyone that wants to ride and cannot go for
the weekend |
SLOWEST RIDER IN 2ND RANK - The slowest rider would be in the 2nd rank on rides to avoid the leader
loosing the back half of the formation, this is an ooooold strategy that keeps the group together, does not
encourage a rider to ride out of their comfort zone, keeps the ride from becoming a race and reduces the
amount of slaming on of the binders going into turns. |
OLD STYLE PROGRESSIVE DINNER RIDE - The Progressive Dinner Ride would be brought back with long rides between
stops, NO games, NO competition and NO prizes - just riding and eating. |
More Overnight Camping Trips - encouraged trips to
- The Redwood Run
- Camp Komratto
- Crescent City
- San Simeon
- other coastal, lake, and mountain locations |
Cool Semi-Annual Rides - other semi-annual rides would be encouraged,e.g.,
the River Boat Excursion Dinner Ride in Grants Pass, Virginia City, etc. |
SUBSIDIZED RCHR EVENTS, e.g., the Poker Run, the Progressive Dinnere Ride, the
Christmas party, and by subsidizing, let the club pay for overage costs for T-shirts, food, commemorative
beer glasses, possibly sales of dinner tickets at a reduced price because... and... (possibly partial) subsidizing of MSF training courses. |
BOARD MEMBERS AT LARGE - re-establishment of (some number (?) of) "Board Members At Large,"
these board members provide extra bodies to volunteer at board meetings to aid/assist board committee activities |
FREE WOMENS AUXILILARY DINNER TICKETS - to be given to... guests at general meetings,
person who submitted the best joke for the newsletter, person who submitted the best cartoon for the newsletter, etc. |
PRIMARY ASSUMPTION OF RISK DOCTRINE - add words to the RCHR waiver... "prusuant to...
the assumption of risk doctrine applies... your participation is at your own
risk," and require everyone re-sign the updated waiver, for whatever it's worth |
General Membership $$$ Approval - add to the constitution the clause that *IF* the board should decide that the club
needs to spend some large amount ("large amount to be determined") then the proposal shall be presented to
the general membership for discussion and approval... or disapproval... |
"CALL-TO-RIDE-NOW" list - a list of folks who are game for a ride... whenever...
so, if you want to go for a short short and you would like company then call someone on the list... |
Affordable Rides - many rides in the past have been overnight rides that
stay in a hotel, and, many folks do not have the funds to continuously go on sush rides, but, THEY WANT
TO RIDE... so... more affordable is an overnight camping trip, campsite prices are low, take your own
grub to bar-b-q and have some fun around the campfire throwing sticks at a skunk or... |
NO CHANGE FOR THE SAKE OF CHANGE - many things have been changed for the sake of change,
i.e., that's what it was called in the "other club" and we must be different - NO WE DONT... a New Member Ride or a 100 +/- ride can
still be a New Member Ride or a 100 +/- ride (the "100 +/- ride" was the name used during that brief period of no club and
therefore there were no members and therefore no "new members," or the "Bone Award" name had to be changed because that is
what it was called in the "other club" - WRONG... we had an excess of "little bones" to give to "bone receipients" and it
was a fun thing the way it was, or the Progressive Dinner Ride name and format change - well... if we DO keep the Games and
Grub run for folks who want to play games and eat then that is fine but we need the Progressive Dinner Ride for those who
want to ride and eat. |
New Advertising Plan - make a new effort to solicit advertising from local businesses,
additionally, there is a way the club can make money by have relevant links displayed in a side bar... |
BOD Agenda to Members - email the agenda to the members prior to a board meeting, then,
if a member is concerned about an agenda topic the member would have the opportunity to attend the board meeting and
be informed |
POST BOD AND GENERAL MEETING MINUTES TO THE WEBSITE... in a log-on area, similar to the
newsletter |
GUEST SPEAKERS - each board member will be responsible for a guest speaker at one of the monthly general meetings |
