12DEC20/Saturday: floors in the new house...
- The 3 bedroons in the new house were all carpeted...which is not good for someone (Sharon)
with alergies, so, we (Rusl) began the job of removing the carpet and replacing 450 sqft of carpet with
vinyl laminate wood flooring...
- estimate from a local flooring company was $3,600.00 (installed) !
- found 480 sq ft of vinyl laminate wood flooring at Home Depoy for $266.00
- bought the vinyl laminate wood flooring, underlayment, T-moulding, baseboard, some tools (all of mine
are still in the sea container [in California]) for less than $600, potentially saving $3,000.00
- 1st attacked the guest bedroom... removed closet doors, removed the carpet, the pad, tack-strip & staples...
- 20 boxes of vinyl laminate wood flooring delivered on a palet was moved to the guest bedroom
|
- 2nd was the office, rug and pad rolled up and piled in the guest bedroom
|
- 3rd was the master bedroom, stacked the twin mattresses in the west side of the room, carpet etc from the east half
of the room to the guest bedroom, begin installation of the vinyl laminate wood flooring
- the planks are very uncooperative... seating a new plank knocks previous planks loose... GRRRRrrrrr...
|
