(Wall Of Comparative Ovations) in Murphys The brothers of John A. Sutter ECV® Chapter #1841 & James W. Marshal ECV® Outpost #49 invited honorable brothers of the Ancient and Honorable Society of E Clampus Vitus® to climb onto their iron Jack Ass or climb into their cage, low-level, car, pickup, jeep, etc. and bring yourself, widders, orphans and friends (all are welcome whether you ride a motorcycle or not) for ride in the Sierras to benefit the Old Timers Museum in Murphys. The greater Sacramento area folks met at the Eppies in West Sacramento on the 14th of September and at 8am Dean "Mr. Clean" Hupp led the ride, picking up additional folks along the Jackson Highway, to the hotel in Plymouth where other folks from places as far away as Lathrop and Pollock Pines and Reno had gathered. There was a $5 annie, and, if you did not like the card you drew then you could draw again for another dollar, and if you did not like the card you drew then... as long as you had money. "Mr Clean" led us over some great roads with stops in Fiddletown for card #2, Volcano for card #3, Railroad Flat for card #4, through San Andreas to Angles Camp and up Murphys Grade to Murphys for card #5. Brett "Bongo" Moroz won the high hand with a Queen high diamond flush and Jim Rushford won the low hand with a Jack-7-5-4-3. Russell "Christ" Holder, Nobel Grand Humbug of ECV® Chapter 1841, presented $120.00 to the museum on behalf of ECV® Chapter #1841, ECV® Outpost #49 and ECV® Chapter #69. This year's ride raised more for the museum than last year's ride... look for this event next year and help raise even more to help support this way cool museum, and, if you are not a Clamper then this is a great opportunity for you to come and see how serious these "red shirts" are about preserving western history.
